It appears that Nigerian wedding festivities are starting to spread internationally.

A video is circulating of a couple getting married who used Nigerian culture and traditions for their wedding.

For their celebration, the couple had their guests make wedding costumes out of materials used by Nigerians for traditional garments.

Furthermore, their guests wore Nigerian traditional attire and invited friends who wore Asoebi as well.

They had a DJ spinning Nigerian songs and between the many wedding games played at the reception, most of which were also Nigerian, were played.

They also had performances from various dance companies focused on Nigerian culture.

Given that some people might see it as cultural appropriation, others have mentioned that White men’s traditional wedding is also seen by some women as a Nigerian wedding.
