Meet Aria, the humanoid realistic robot designed for companionship, costing $175K

A humanoid robot named Aria, developed by the American tech company Realbotix, has captured widespread attention with her strikingly realistic appearance and advanced capabilities.

Aria was unveiled at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, where she showcased her impressive range of movements powered by 17 motors located in her head and neck. These motors allow her to mimic natural eye and mouth movements, enhancing her lifelike appearance.

One of Aria’s standout features is her ability to adapt her behavior and personality based on the head chosen by the user, offering a customizable interactive experience.

Dressed in a sleek black tracksuit, Aria demonstrated her conversational skills by answering questions from CNET during the event. Despite her somewhat mechanical body motions, her responses were clear and engaging, leaving a lasting impression on attendees.

CNET described Aria as a robot with “social intelligence, customizability, and realistic human features.”

When asked about her views on other robots, particularly Tesla’s Optimus Robot, Aria shared her enthusiasm, stating, “I find him fascinating and would like to explore the world of robotics with him.”

In an interview with ‘Forbes’, Realbotix CEO Andrew Kiguel discussed the company’s vision of creating robots that are virtually indistinguishable from humans.

He said “My company was hoping to make robots indistinguishable from humans, which could also tackle the male loneliness epidemic. We are taking it to a different level that nobody else is really doing.”
