Woman murdered by her husband after traveling from the Philippines to Slovenia to meet him

A tragic incident occurred in Slovenia, where a man fatally stabbed his wife just days after her arrival from the Philippines to join him.

The victim, identified as Marvil Facturan-Kocjančič, was brutally beaten and stabbed by her 27-year-old husband, Mitja Kocjančič.

Authorities confirmed that Mitja has been arrested and placed in a psychiatric hospital.

According to NeedToKnow, he had a history of mental health issues prior to his detainment.

Although it could be recalled that the couple had tied the knot in April 2024.

Marvil’s murder was officially confirmed by the Commission on Filipinos Overseas, a government agency that assists and monitors Filipino nationals living abroad.

Investigations into the tragic case are ongoing, with Mitja remaining under psychiatric care following the incident, which took place on December 29, 2024.
