Hours after Nigerian activist and critic, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, was arrested, many have taken to social media to express their displeasure against his detention.

Recall that VDM had earlier come online to lament the illegal deduction from his mother’s GTBank account and said he would be visiting one of their branches in the capital city of Nigeria, Abuja.

VDM then posted yesterday, May 2nd 2025, that he is currently in GTBank to make a complaint.

Hours after this, the activist’s brother came out to declare that VeryDarkMan was missing. He alleged that he was carted away by some gunmen who were yet to be identified.

“It’s so funny that most people want the downfall for VeryDarkMan is really sad, this man helped people especially when people were scammed of their money Man doesn’t deserves this.”

@kingjacjoh:
“To detain VeryDarkMan for simply demanding that the right thing be done clearly shows the world whether your allegiance is to injustice or justice. And GT Bank made a grave, self-destructive mistake. THE PEOPLE ALWAYS HAVE THE POWER.”

@JustCasper_2:
“I don’t know about you but honestly, people expecting a downfall from VeryDarkMan is disappointing too plus he wasn’t wrong about what he did. Man deserves much accolades.”

@Eric1L:
“I’m destroying my GTbank ATM card today and am withdrawing all my funds from the bank, they conspired with those guys to cramp VeryDark.”
