Adron Homes are fraudulent, Europe-based Nigerian narrates his ordeal

Robert Essien (not real name), a Nigerian residing in an European country, has narrated how Adron Homes, a popular real estate development company, collected his N16.85 million and failing to give him his plot of land.

Essien told FIJ that he made the land purchase in late 2024.

“Between October and November 2024, I made a total payment of N16.85 million, being the full payment for a plot of land at Treasure Park and Garden, Phase 2, Shimawa, Ogun State, to Adron Homes,” said Essien.

“Despite the fact that I had paid full fees to Adron Homes, however, allocation was not done. When I demanded to know when the land would be allocated to me, the company insisted that I had to show it an intention to build.

“Adron Homes also stated that it was when I was ready to build that a landed property would be allocated to me. At that time, I had no choice but to communicate my intention to build to the company.”


The Contract That Was Signed Between Adron Homes and Essien During the Land Purchase.

Essien told FIJ that Adron Homes subsequently sent pictures of structures and architectural designs he could study and consider for his building.

“I was additionally told that for Adron Homes to construct the building for me, I would have to pay them N70 million,” said Essien.

“After paying N16.85 million for the land, you are now telling me to bring an additional N70 million naira for the construction or no activity would happen on the property? I even tried negotiating with Adron Homes but the property company did not even give me any audience.

“Since that time, the property development company stopped communicating with me.

When Adron Homes became adamant on its demand for N70 million, Essien demanded a refund of the N16.85 million he had earlier paid to the company.

“This was where the problem began. Adron Homes said it would not make any refund except 30 per cent of the N16.85 million I paid was deducted as administrative fee,” Essien said.

“I completely refused. Why would they deduct that kind of amount for a job they had not done? They said they were going to pay me the deducted sum in 90 days. While all this was going on, Adron Homes failed to allocate the land to me.

“Adron Homes also never told me from the onset that it would be the party to develop the land by doing the building; it did not tell me that it was either it builds or nobody would. When I requested a refund, its officials said they would deduct 30 per cent from the total amount I paid.”

Later on, Adron Homes sent Essien a provisional allocation letter but he rejected it because it did not suit his plans.

“My lawyers wrote them a series of letters and from then on, there have been a lot of back and forth on the matter,” said Essien.

“To date, Adron Homes is still insisting on deducting 30 per cent from my money for a contract they breached.

“The company wants to benefit from a payment it had not worked for. Moreover, there was nothing like an administrative fee in the N16.85 million payment I made to it for the land.

“Every payment I made was for a task. Why do I have to be a victim of a 30 per cent administrative fee deduction because I refused an unreasonable clause you have brought up?”

On Wednesday, FIJ sent an email to Adron Homes’ client service desk for a reaction to Essien’s entire claim, but it had not been responded to at press time.
