Selena Gomez flew the flag for natural curves as she posed poolside with pal Nicola Peltz two summers ago, and she likely didn’t appreciate the slew of body-shaming comments left by trolls.

In July 2023, the 32-year-old showed off her sensational figure in a stylish brown bathing suit, posting an Instagram photo from a luxury getaway as she and Nicola chilled out poolside.

Flaunting her curvy backside in her cheeky swimsuit, Selena reminded the camera of her curvaceous body, one she’s confirmed can experience weight fluctuations as she manages treatment for her autoimmune Lupus condition.

While Selena has made 2025 headlines for slimming down, 2023 was still her curvier era.

Drawing the eye to her curvy hips and toned legs, the “Love On” singer wowed in a textured brown one-piece, going ultra high-cut for a reminder of her killer hips.

Folding her legs beneath her a little and partly covered by a pale blue shrug, Selena also hinted at her shapely back, posing with a slight pout as she wore her hair tied back.

Meanwhile, Brooklyn Beckham’s wife Nicola opted for a skimpy white bikini top with a halter finish. The post, which didn’t share Gomez’s location, quickly went viral.

The Daily Mail covered it, and it was here that Selena was subject to body-shaming remarks.

While one hater called Selena “flabby,” multiple users suggested that the Rare Beauty founder is overweight. “I guess saying ‘pert posterior is a nice way of saying fat” was a comment gaining over 90 upvotes. Shading Selena and Brooklyn’s mom Victoria Beckham, another replied: “Sorry Selena. You look fat and Nicola is posing the way her mother-in-law has posed for years.”

Selena Gomez made headlines in January 2024 as she discussed her weight, stating that it can fluctuate based on how her Lupus condition is managed.

Over a year later, fans are commenting on the star’s weight loss, with photos from March 2025 onwards showing her looking increasingly slimmer.

Some have even speculated Ozempic use, although most are of the opinion that Selena has just lost the 2023 weight she gained due to a change in her medication.
