- Politicians from the Peoples Democratic Party, Labour Party, Social Democratic Party, and APC members have united ahead of the 2027 election.
Veteran entertainer and activist Charly Boy has harshly criticized a coalition of prominent politicians who recently defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in a bid to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election.
The coalition reportedly comprises figures from multiple opposition parties, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), Social Democratic Party (SDP), and dissatisfied members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Taking to his official Facebook page, Charly Boy condemned the coalition, describing its members as the “same people that sank this country,” now pretending to be agents of change. He questioned the sincerity of their motives, warning Nigerians not to be fooled by mere rebranding.
“Not every alliance is progress. Sometimes it’s just old wolves in new agbada,” he wrote.
Charly Boy further emphasized that Nigeria’s 2027 election should not be about political revenge or recycled power struggles, but a genuine rescue mission.
In a strongly worded post, he challenged the coalition’s true intent:
“Are they fighting for you, or fighting to sit where their enemies used to sit? “Are they shouting “enough is enough” because they’ve changed…Or because they’re no longer the ones benefitting?
“We don’t just need new names. We need new values, new visions, and people with the guts to live by them. 2027 is not about revenge. It’s about rescue.”
Charly Boy’s post has since stirred reactions online, with many echoing his sentiments about the need for genuine reform rather than recycled leadership.
