Pul Pogba has opened up about how his life changed after his fame started fading following his doping scandal.
The former Manchester United and Juventus midfielder said people who once called and invited him to events started ignoring him the moment he was no longer in the spotlight.
Speaking in a recent interview, Pogba revealed that he felt abandoned and forgotten. According to him, once he was banned for doping, the phone calls stopped, invitations dried up, and even those close to him began to act differently. He said, “Paul Pogba, the famous guy, is no more… people started avoiding me, even friends and family.”
The French star was handed a four-year ban after testing positive for a banned substance, but the punishment was later reduced to 18 months on appeal. He insisted he never knowingly took drugs and blamed the result on a supplement prescribed by a doctor.
Pogba, who will be eligible to return to football in March 2025, admitted the experience was a bitter eye-opener. He said the period showed him who his true friends were and taught him never to rely on people who only show up when things are good.
