The incident came to light through a video posted on TikTok by @samuel.faith.sull, which captured the moment the agent was confronted and made to account for his actions.

According to the clip, the client paid a total of ₦650,000 after the agent claimed he had been authorized by the landlord to lease out the shop. He allegedly assured the woman that she could take possession once the current occupant moved out.

However, when the shop eventually became vacant, the landlord rented it out to another individual. Shockingly, the landlord denied ever giving the agent authority to rent out the shop or receiving any money from him.

This revelation caused an uproar, leading to the agent being tracked down and compelled to explain himself. In the video, he confessed to misappropriating the funds for personal expenses and admitted he had no legitimate arrangement with the landlord.

A voice in the video could be heard confronting him:

“She trusted you with the money because you said the landlord put you in charge of the store. But now the landlord says he doesn’t know you and never received any money. You used her ₦550K plus the ₦100K agent fee for personal issues?”

The video quickly gained traction on social media, sparking outrage and calls for justice, with many demanding that the agent be held accountable for his fraudulent behavior.
