Anambra PDP gov’ship candidate, Ezenwafor, survives assassination attempt

Chief Jude Ezenwafor, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the upcoming Anambra State governorship election has survived an assassination attempt in Abuja.

According to reports, unknown gunmen attacked and shot Ezenwafor on Friday night around the Wuse 2 area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) while returning home from an appointment.

Ezenwafor is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital in Abuja, where he spoke to newsmen on Saturday.

Speaking to journalists from his hospital bed, the visibly shaken Anambra State PDP governorship candidate described the incident as a close shave with death.

“I am currently in the hospital. The doctors are making efforts to operate me so that they can pull out bullets from my body,” Ezenwafor said in a faint voice.
