‘Hold thy Labour’, Shehu Sani offers advice to Peter Obi on his birthday

A former lawmaker of the National Assembly, Shehu Sani has advised the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party on which party to stick to ahead of the 2027 general election.

Sani gave the advice to Obi while sending birthday wishes to the former governor of Anambra State as he turns 64.

In a post made on X, Sani advised Obi to ensure he remains with the Labour Party.

According to the former lawmaker, Labour Party for Obi is like “the devil you know”.

Recall that Obi, a member of the Labour Party has been involved with the coalition team led by the former vice president Atiku Abubakar and the immediate past governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai.

The coalition – with the aim to oust the current administration led by President Bola Tinubu – has also adopted the African Democratic Party (ADC) as its political platform for the 2027 general election.

While the leaders of the ADC have continued to woo Obi, who has declared his intention to contest for the 2027 presidency, sources have also indicated that other parties like the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are making moves to have the former presidential candidate on their ticket.

To these, Sani urged Obi to avoid chasing two things at the same time.

He wrote on X, “Happy Birthday to Mr Peter Obi. My advice; hold thy Labour, it’s the Devil you know.

“Don’t chase two rabbits at the same time,” Sani said.
