Senator Francis Fadahunsi has announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Fadahunsi who represents Osun East Senatorial District at the Nigerian Senate said he dumped the opposition party over irreparable and irreconcilable differences.

In a resignation letter addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman for Ward 4, Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State, Fadahunsi said he can no longer cope with the protracted legal battles that have bedevilled the party at the national level since the conclusion of the 2023 general elections.

In the later dates June 12, the Senator said his decision followed several consultations with members of his family and political associates.

He said, “I wish to formally notify you that I am resigning my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect, due to the irreparable, irreconcilable differences and protracted legal battles that have bedevilled the party at the National level after the 2023 general elections.

“This (resignation) was concluded after consultation and engagement with my political associates, family and friends.

“It is my wish that you accept my resignation in good faith.

“Thank you for your understanding,” the lawmaker said.
