Procurement Management: CIPSMN, TAC and Envision Take Centre Stage

In meeting with the goal that procurement cuts across all sectors of the economy, the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management of Nigeria, CIPSMN has collaborated with two private entities to host an online training course on Procurement Management in Nigeria.

Themed “Mastering Procurement in Nigeria: Principles, Practices and Compliance” the training is being hosted in collaboration with Trans Atlantic Consult, a cross-border procurement firm and Envision Consultancy Services, Incorporation, a multi-level E-learning Solution based in Canada.

The two-day event is to enhance the participation and capacity of practitioners and learners in the private, public and the not-for-profit sectors.

Slated for Wednesday 30th and Thursday 31st July, the resource faculty consists of experts and professionals from the Institute, the private sector, the non-profit sectors and the academia.

Speaking yesterday in Lagos, the President of the Institute, Elder Sikiru Balogun said the training is part of the Institute’s commitment to good governance and in response to current realities in development challenges. In his words, “We are committed to a more inclusive, participatory and ownership trend in the practice of procurement in Nigeria”.

Furthermore, he said the Institute recognized the role of various sector in procurement management system in Nigeria, and that the entire nation needs to be carried along in one direction of Nigeria First Policy
