JUST IN: IGP finally meets retired officers at Force Headquarters

Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun is currently meeting with retired police officers at the Peacekeeping Hall, Force Headquarters in Abuja.

The meeting follows his earlier promise to engage with the retirees, who gathered peacefully to raise concerns about their retirement benefits.

The IGP’s meeting with the former personnel was triggered by nationwide protests by the retirees.

Prominent activists had also joined the protests to push for improved welfare for the retirees.

An elaborate press statement by the Force Headquarters is expected at the end of the meeting to update Nigerians on the outcome.
