Nigerian car dealer Ikechukwu Ogbonna, aka IVD, has claimed that his late wife, Bimbo, was physically abusive during their marriage.

Speaking on The Honest Bunch podcast, IVD described her as “very dramatic” and alleged she once slapped him publicly at his office.

Bimbo died in 2022 under controversial circumstances, with IVD later charged with involuntary manslaughter by the Lagos State government.

“Whenever my late wife started her drama, I used to leave the house, but my daughter would send a VN to me to come back,” he said.

IVD also accused Bimbo’s family of orchestrating a smear campaign against him after her death, including spreading false claims that he was HIV-positive.

“She was very dramatic. She was fighting me everywhere. Everyone knows. She would come to my office and give me a dirty slap for doing nothing,” he said.

“My in-laws paid bloggers to defame me after my wife passed away. They said I was violent and I had HIV.

“I did my HIV test at Evercare, and it was negative. They took all my property, her property and my five kids away. Till now, I have not set eyes on my kids.”

“Blessing was there for me when I was down and wanted to commit su!cide. I used to be an ashawo boy before, but right now I am fully committed to her. I have never and will never cheat on her. I shed tears when she was wearing her wedding gown,” he added.

“I have never experienced such with any woman. My late wife and I only did traditional. The wedding gowns fit Blessing so much. She put on 36 wedding gowns and I cried 36 times.”

Blessing CEO and IVD got engaged in April.
