The Yobe State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of 35-year-old Hadiza Mamuda in connection with the alleged killing of her husband in Fika Local Government Area.

According to the command’s spokesperson, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, the incident occurred during a domestic dispute that escalated into violence. During the altercation, Hadiza reportedly struck her husband with a wooden object, leading to his death.

The tragic event, which was reportedly triggered by an argument over food, is now under investigation as authorities work to uncover further details.

“The Yobe State Police Command, Fika Divisional Police Headquarters, has apprehended Hadiza Mamuda, 35, of Garin Abba Village, Fika LGA, for allegedly k!lling her husband following a heated argument over food. The suspect reportedly used a log of wood to fatally assault the victim,” the statement read.

“Investigation is underway, and the suspect will be arraigned in court subsequently. The victim, a polygamous husband with two wives and five children, including the accused, leaves behind a grieving family.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Ado, psc fdc, emphasizes the need for marital community intervention initiatives to address domestic violence and abuse. He urges religious leaders to intensify sensitization campaigns on the dangers of physical violence in marital affairs.

“The Command remains committed to maintaining security and safety for all citizens.”
