President Bola Tinubu has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is open to admitting more politicians from the opposition parties.

Warning politicians and public office aspirants to desist from joining an abandoned ship, the president said it is important to stay away from the activities of the coalition leaders and their party, the African Democratic Congress (APC).

Tinubu said this while speaking at the APC National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Thursday, July 24.

He said, “It is not a bad idea to abandon a sinking ship and be absent from a coalition of confusion.”

According to him, the ruling party remains open to other politicians including serving governors until December 2025.

“I want to thank our governors. Today, I think we have 23 governors and still counting. I thank all of you for your show of love, solidarity, and accommodation,” he said.

“With the space we have created to allow more members to join us, our doors are still open till December, and we will embrace them wholeheartedly,” Tinubu said.
