The family of the late Bimbo Ogbonna, estranged wife of businessman Ikechukwu Ogbonna, popularly known as IVD, has responded strongly to his recent accusations concerning their custody of his children.
IVD recently took to his Instagram stories, posting a photo of one of his daughters and suggesting she looked unwell. He claimed he was more capable of raising all his children and accused his ex-in-laws of abducting them, insisting they be returned to him.
In a swift rebuttal shared via the Instagram handle @izzy_ogbeide_, the family clarified that the video IVD shared was taken shortly after Bimbo’s death. They dismissed his claims, calling him an absentee parent and released updated photos of the children to counter his narrative.
One of the photos featured the daughter he referenced, happily participating as “queen of her house” during a recent school sports competition. Another showed the children with Bimbo’s older sister, who had visited them at their boarding school.
The post further accused IVD of using social media to manipulate public perception and avoid accountability for his alleged abusive behavior towards his late wife. They asserted that the children are now thriving and enjoying a better quality of life than when their mother was alive.
The family also took a swipe at IVD’s current partner, self-styled relationship expert Blessing CEO. They mocked her parenting abilities, sarcastically referring to her as “Maggi yansh,” and questioned how she planned to care for five stepchildren in addition to her own two. They also labeled her a negligent parent for not publicly acknowledging her own son.
This isn’t the first time IVD has spoken publicly about his children. In a previous interview, he claimed he hadn’t been allowed to see them in years and challenged his former in-laws to grant him access.
