WAFCON 2024: “This 10th title is for you” – Super Falcons tell Tinubu

The Super Falcons have dedicated the 2024 Women’s African Cup of Nations championship trophy to President Bola Tinubu.

The Nigerian female football team dedicated the trophy to the president and all the good people of Nigeria at the Presidential Villa on Monday, July 28.

Speaking while presenting the trophy to President Tinubu, Rasheedat Ajibade, Super Falcons Captain said the victory is for every young Nigerian girl across all parts of the country.

According to the captain, today’s celebration is for every girl who dares to dream and for every Nigerian who carries the nation’s flag with pride and dignity.

Ajibade said, “It is the celebration for every girl in our villages, towns and cities who dares to dream; every family that believes in the power of unity and Nigerian who carries our green and white flag with pride.

“This 10th title is for you, Mr. President; it is for Nigerians; it is for the Super Falcons and every young child who believes and dreams to be on this stage someday,” she said.

Recall that the Super Falcons for the 10th time emerged victorious at the WAFCON finals after winning their Moroccan counterparts on a 3-2 score on Sunday.

The team led by Ajibade departed Morocco to arrive in Abuja on Monday and headed straight to the Presidential Villa to present the trophy to the president.
