A young Nigerian graduate has sparked emotional reactions online after being spotted on a pedestrian bridge in Oshodi, Lagos, pleading for employment.

The corps member, who recently completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program, held a placard lamenting his inability to secure a job months after leaving service. His touching display was captured and shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user @fw_cas.

According to the witness, he encountered the young man during his commute across the Oshodi bridge. Sharing a photo of the graduate, he wrote:

“Met this corper on Oshodi Bridge today, crying out after NYSC with no job. Let’s stand together for #JusticeForNigeriaGraduates! Help a graduate share their story! 🇳🇬 #SupportOurYouth.”

The placard the corps member displayed read: “If school isn’t a scam, after months of finishing service (NYSC), I haven’t gotten a job.”

The viral post triggered a wave of sympathy and concern, with social media users expressing frustration over the country’s high unemployment rate. Many called for meaningful reforms to bridge the gap between education and employment opportunities in Nigeria.
