Professor Muhammad Sani Bello has resigned from his position as Commissioner for Information in Kaduna State and as a member of the State Executive Council.
In a letter dated July 29, 2025, addressed to the Secretary to the State Government and titled Notice of Voluntary Resignation, Professor Bello referenced his appointment via letter GH/KD/S/171 dated July 27, 2023, and announced his resignation with immediate effect.
“I wish to notify you of my decision to voluntarily resign with immediate effect,” the letter read. “I wish to place on record, my profound gratitude and appreciation for the opportunity afforded me to serve in the capacities I did.”
The letter did not state any reason for his resignation.
Following the development, Governor Uba Sani appointed Alhaji Ahmed Maiyaki as the new Commissioner for Information.
A statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibraheem Musa, confirmed the appointment and noted that Maiyaki was previously the Managing Director of the Kaduna State Media Corporation.
