- The singer, known for her song ‘Bless Me,’ expressed her belief that no man is good enough for her.
Nigerian singer Euphemia Runyi Ekumah, popularly known as GoodGirl LA, has candidly revealed her stance on marriage and it’s a firm no.
The 28-year-old “Bless Me” crooner made the bold statement while clapping back at a social media user who mocked her for allegedly not enjoying cooking and questioned who would want to marry her.
Responding via her platform, the Cross River-born singer dismissed the idea of marriage entirely, insisting that no man alive is worthy of her.
In her words:
“I’m never getting married because no man walking this earth deserves a goddess like me. Now what?”
GoodGirl LA’s response has stirred a wave of reactions online, with fans and critics weighing in on her unapologetic self-worth and strong opinions on traditional expectations of women.
In related news, Nigerian actress and former Big Brother Naija star, Bisola Aiyeola, has shared that marriage and having more children are no longer priorities in her life.
The 39-year-old screen star made the revelation during a recent appearance on the Dear Ife podcast, hosted by Ifedayo Agoro. She explained that she is currently focused on her peace of mind, financial independence, and personal growth, rather than pursuing romantic relationships or starting a new family.
According to Bisola, she once gave herself an age limit for childbearing, but that phase has now passed.
“I’m not really keen on marriage any longer. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn’t, it’s okay too. I gave myself an age marker; I don’t want to have babies after I clock 38. I have passed 38 and no man yet, so, I am just here and not actively looking forward to it.”
She went on to say that she has grown accustomed to her independence and no longer clings to the idea of marriage.
“I think I have gotten used to being alone. I love, love, I still do. Love is sweet, it’s nice it’s a beautiful thing, but reality is a different story.”
Bisola emphasized that marriage isn’t the ultimate goal for everyone, and it certainly isn’t for her anymore.
“Marriage is not a do-or-die affair. There are so many more things one can aspire to be besides getting married. I am not desperate for marriage,” she concluded.
The actress’s honest and empowering words have sparked conversations online, with many praising her for embracing self-worth and emotional clarity.
