Popular Nigerian fashion entrepreneur, Seyi Adekunle, better known as Seyi Vodi, has extended his support to the next generation of creatives by donating sewing machines to recently discharged corps members.
The celebrated founder and chairman of Vodi Group, who marked his 50th birthday with a star-studded celebration, took to Instagram to highlight his latest philanthropic gesture.
Reflecting on his own journey, Seyi Vodi revealed that his successful fashion business, Vodi Tailors, was launched using funds from his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) allowance. He expressed deep gratitude to the Federal Government and NYSC scheme for giving him the opportunity that sparked his entrepreneurial path.
In the spirit of giving back, he donated sewing machines to recent corps members through the ActivateSuccess Foundation’s Youth Entrepreneurship and Empowerment Summit (YEEP’25). He emphasized that this move represents his ongoing commitment to nurturing growth in the fashion industry and empowering youth.
He wrote: “I started Vodi Tailors with my NYSC allowance. There is a story here with credit to the NYSC and the Federal Government. It was a special moment then when I got a chance to meet with NYSC members and immediate past corps members.
One aspect of reflecting our commitment to the industry and its growth is in our community interventions. We donated sewing machines to the immediate past corps members under the ActivateSuccess Foundation’s Youth Entrepreneurship and Empowerment Summit (YEEP’25)
@activatesuccessfoundation We took the beneficiaries on a tour of our Fashion House. In seeing what’s possible, young people can have bigger dreams for themselves as they commit to a life of value creation in tailoring. Happy to collaborate with @loveidoko and her organization on this one.”
