Nollywood star Angela Okorie has publicly expressed her support for singer Afeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, amid the renewed backlash surrounding him.
Naira Marley has continued to face criticism online following the controversies linked to the death of his former signee, Mohbad. The discussions resurfaced after a purported WhatsApp group chat involving social media critic VeryDarkMan went viral, once again placing the Marlian Music boss in the spotlight.
In a recent video, Angela Okorie described the singer as “a sweet soul” and recounted how he once gave her an unforgettable surprise during a past birthday celebration. According to her, the encouragement she received from him motivated their collaboration on a song together.
Sharing her personal experience visiting the singer’s home, Angela noted that Naira Marley is mostly quiet and spends much of his time on the phone.
“The encouragement he gave me, nobody has ever given me in this demonic industry, where people envy others for no reason. Naira Marley is not a fighter; he is very quiet and hardly talks,” she said.
GistLover previously reported that in 2022, Naira Marley and actor Charles Okocha attended Angela Okorie’s birthday party, where a viral video showed the singer showering her with cash to the delight of party guests.
Angela’s recent video defending Naira Marley has now sparked fresh conversations online.
