Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has dissolved the state executive council, effectively sacking all serving commissioners.

The announcement was made on Wednesday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, shortly after the 12th meeting of the council held at Government House, Makurdi.

Kula clarified that the dissolution affects only commissioners, while other cabinet members remain in office.

As part of the changes, Governor Alia appointed a new Chief of Staff, Moses Atagher, who previously served as the state’s Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice.

Alia thanked the outgoing commissioners for their service over the last two years and encouraged those not returning to stay active in party affairs and continue contributing to the state’s development.
