JUST IN: Tinubu makes fresh appointment

President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday, July 30, appointed Olumode Samuel Adeyemi as the new substantive Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS).

The appointment of Adeyemi by the president was contained in a statement issued by the Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), Major General Abdulmalik Jibril (rtd).

According to Jibril, the new CG of FFS’s appointment is effective from August 14, 2025, following the retirement of the outgoing Controller-General, Engineer Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola.

Olola, Politics Nigeria gathered will be retiring from the service on August 11 2025, upon attaining the age of 60.

“DCG Olumode Samuel Adeyemi brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having transferred his service from the FCT Fire Service to the Federal Fire Service and grown to the rank of Deputy Controller-General of Fire in the Human Resource Directorate of the Service Headquarters,” Jibril said in the statement.

He also stated that the new CG has served in various capacities and is equally a member/fellow of the following professional associations including the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN),  Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria and Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria. 

On behalf of the board, Jibril extended appreciation to the outgoing CG for his contribution to the service.

He also acknowledged his dedication to the service and growth of the Federal Fire Service during his tenure in office.
