The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) says it has drilled four oil wells in the Kolmani area of Bauchi State.
A Director at the company, Yusuf Usman, disclosed this on Wednesday during a two-day interactive session on Government-Citizens Engagement, organised by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation in Kaduna.
“So far, the NNPCL has drilled four wells in the Kolmani area of Bauchi State,” Usman said. “We are currently evaluating the appropriate technology to be deployed for the next phase of drilling operations.”
He also spoke about some of the company’s ongoing projects, particularly in northern Nigeria, including five gas plants being built in Kogi State.
“In support of President Tinubu’s Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Initiative, five CNG and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plants are under construction in Kogi,” he said. “These plants are expected to enhance gas supply and accessibility across the northern region.”
Usman mentioned these as part of what he called the company’s broader efforts to expand oil and gas development in the north and other regions.
