Former Big Brother Naija housemate and reality TV star Queen Mercy Atang has shared an emotional reaction to a powerful scene from Kemi Adetiba’s Netflix thriller, To Kill a Monkey.

In a video posted to her Instagram page, Queen was seen crying uncontrollably while watching the heartbreaking betrayal of Oboz, portrayed by Bucci Franklin, at the hands of Efe, played by William Benson. The gut-wrenching moment shows Oboz standing firm to protect his brother-in-arms, only to discover that Efe the very person he was trying to shield was the one who betrayed him.

“Before you touch him, you’ll have to kill me first. You can’t touch my brother,” Oboz declares with his dying breath.

Queen, deeply moved by the scene, confessed that the betrayal hit close to home.

“Watching this film broke me. Even in the face of danger, he was still holding on to his charm, trying to protect them both… until he realized his own brother had betrayed him.”

The reality star used the moment to reflect on her own past experiences with betrayal, speaking candidly about how she’s often misunderstood for reacting emotionally when hurt.

“Stop judging people who get upset and vent right away. They’re often the realest and kindest at heart. I speak from deep experience.”

She added that while she may react strongly when hurt, she eventually lets go.

“If you ever betray me… I will vent. I will react. I will fight in my own way. But once it’s out of my system, it ends there.”

Concluding her post, Queen admitted the emotional toll of the scene lingered well beyond the viewing:
