A former governor of Niger State, Babangida Muazu Aliyu has called on Nigerians to avail President Bola Tinubu the kind of support they gave to his predecessor, the late Muhammadu Buhari.

Aliyu said if Nigerians could tolerate Buhari for eight years, they could do the same with Tinubu.

Warning against premature truncation of the current administration, Aliyu said it is important to give Tinubu a fair chance and allow him to govern the nation until 2031.

Speaking during an interview with Arise Television on Thursday, the former governor said Nigerians need to exercise patience when it comes to leadership.

“If we could tolerate the late Muhammad Buhari for eight years, oh my God, let’s try it maybe by 2031, we can jettison the arrangement if we find it convenient,” Muazu said.

On the adoption of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) by the coalition and their mission to oust Tinubu from power, Aliyu said the opposition has no alternative for Nigerians.

“You see, my argument had always been, what is the alternative? What is it if you want to remove this or that government or that governor or that president? What is the alternative that you’re offering to the people?” he queried.
