Nollywood actor Jigan Baba Oja has broken his silence and responded to accusations made by controversial social media critic, VeryDarkMan, who alleged that Jigan is part of a secret WhatsApp group allegedly formed to derail the pursuit of justice for the late singer, Mohbad.
The controversy erupted after VeryDarkMan accused actress Iyabo Ojo of heading the group and claimed several celebrities, including Jigan, were involved in efforts to cover up the truth behind Mohbad’s death.
Addressing the issue during a TikTok live session, Jigan expressed his frustration and dismissed the demand to release chat history from the alleged group, stating that he owes no one an explanation.
He stated, “If you like, listen to my explanation, so fine. Do I even owe you an explanation? No! As long as my conscience is so pure; that’s what matters.”
Taking to Instagram shortly after, Jigan seemingly threw shade at VeryDarkMan, writing:
“So fast Nigerians ain’t asking for the evidences no more! Something you paid 20m to achieve and you can’t post it no longer! Are we still in the slavery era? Na leg dey pain me not my brain! We shall see to the end of this! Thank you Allah, Olujo Mimo! 🙏.”

His statement has sparked mixed reactions online, with many questioning the validity of the original claims and calling for transparency from all parties involved.
