The Northern Voice for Credible Leadership (NVCL) has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to appoint Hon. Nasir Bala Aminu Ja’oji as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.
The appeal was made during a meeting held on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Bafra International Hotel, Kaduna. The group said it had met to discuss key national issues and, after deliberations, reached a unanimous decision to send a formal request to the President.
According to a statement signed by NVCL Chairman, Abdullahi M. Saleh, the decision followed “thorough deliberation and consideration.”
“We humbly and respectfully plead with President Tinubu to consider the appointment of Hon. Nasir Bala Aminu Ja’oji to occupy the vacant position left by the outgoing Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, who has since taken up his new role as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC),” Saleh said.
The group pointed to Ja’oji’s involvement in humanitarian projects across the country.
“Hon. Nasir Bala Aminu Ja’oji’s impressive track record of humanitarian service across Nigeria makes him an exemplary candidate for this role. His dedication to supporting youths through skill acquisition programs, empowering women through various initiatives, providing scholarships to the less privileged, and creating job opportunities for the community, demonstrates his unwavering commitment to the welfare and development of our society,” the statement read.
NVCL also argued that his appointment would support the federal government’s poverty reduction agenda.
“We believe that Hon. Ja’oji’s appointment would not only be a testament to his hard work and dedication but also a strategic move to further enhance the humanitarian and poverty alleviation efforts of the federal government,” Saleh added.
