The Rotary Club of Kano has donated 12 brand-new modern sewing machines worth over N3 million to the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Kano State Command, as part of its humanitarian service and commitment to community development.

This was contained in a statement issued on Thursday in Kano by the Public Relations Officer of the NCoS Kano Command, Musbahu Lawan-Kofar Nasarawa.

According to the statement, the donation is aimed at supporting the reformation, rehabilitation, and reintegration of inmates through vocational skills acquisition.

The sewing machines were officially handed over to the Controller of Corrections, Kano State Command, Mr. Ado Inuwa, during a ceremony held at the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Kano.

Receiving the items, Inuwa expressed profound gratitude to the Rotary Club for the thoughtful gesture.

He assured the donors that the machines would be judiciously utilised to advance reformatory programmes, noting that vocational empowerment is a critical tool in preparing inmates for life after incarceration.

Inuwa also conveyed the appreciation of the Controller-General of Corrections, Mr. Sylvester Nwakuche, to the Rotary Club and urged other well-meaning individuals and organisations to emulate the gesture.
