A Nigerian man, Joseph Don, has gone viral for renting a massive billboard to profess his everlasting love for his wife, Ugonna Attiah, shortly after their wedding ceremony.

The billboard, which features Ugonna’s photo alongside the bold inscription, “You are mine forever,” has captured the attention of many on social media.

Sharing the photo on Facebook on Wednesday, July 30, Joseph revealed that the romantic gesture was not spontaneous but a promise he made to Ugonna over a year ago when they were still friends.

The billboard also included beautiful snapshots from their traditional wedding, further melting hearts online.

“So a little over a year ago. Out of the blues, I told my wife who was my friend then… ‘Las Las na me go marry you,’ and she said, ‘God forbid.’ No, she didn’t hate me. We were very good friends. As in… we don see each other finish. So it felt out of place.

“But then… I told her… ‘When I marry you, I will put up a billboard.’ Promise made. Promise fulfilled. She no believe am. I will show you her reaction tomorrow,” Joseph wrote in a heartfelt post.
