Tinubu’s Wife, Oluremi Tinubu Donates N1bn, Relief Materials to Victims of Flooding, Banditry

Nigeria’s first lady, Oluremi Tinubu has gifted N1 billion to victims of flooding, banditry, boat mishaps and fire disasters across Niger State.

She presented the donation on behalf of the Renewed Hope Initiative’s Governing Council at the Government House in Minna.

Mrs Tinubu said the funds should be directed towards housing support and essential supplies to help displaced families in the state.

Other items donated include two thousand 50kg bags of rice, clothes and shoes.

The First Lady condoled with the government and people of Niger State over the recent disasters, including the flood in Mokwa that claimed many lives and displaced many families. She prayed God to comfort and strengthen the affected families.

She also applauded President Bola Tinubu’s swift approval of funds and food items to support the recovery efforts and reconstruction of houses destroyed by the flood and commended Governor Muhammad Umaru Bago for his prompt response to the disaster.

Responding, Bago thanked Mrs Tinubu for the donation.

“We appreciate the First Lady’s kindness to the victims of disasters in the state. Niger State has experienced various challenges, including floods, boat mishaps, fire disasters, banditry and insurgency,” Bago said.
