Youths in Barnawa Community of Kaduna South Local Government are protesting over the killing of an innocent youth in the community by personnel of National Drug Law Enforcement Agent (NDLEA) following the raid in the community against illicit drugs

Eye witness in the community, Mallam Ibrahim said while the personnel of NDLEA were pursuing a suspected illicit drug dealer in the community, seeing that the suspect could not be apprehended, he fired shot towards the direction, but unfortunately, he missed the target, and hit a lonely innocent youth who died immediately

Following the incident, several youth barricaded the main road, burning tyres, protesting the killing of the youth, even as they vowed not to leave the scene until necessary action is taken

Mallam Sani Abubakar said ” we have witnessed several killings of innocent youth in the community over issues that does not concern the youth, the state government must hear this, and take immediate action”.

Although, some protesting youth gradually disappeared from the scene, others were hanging around waiting for the reaction of the state government.
However, as at the time of filling this report, the Police Public Relations Officer of the state is yet to react to the killing, even as the Press Secretary to the Kaduna State government is yet to react to the protesting youth
