The Nasarawa State Police Command has launched a manhunt for a herbalist, simply identified as Alfa, over alleged involvement in a ritual killing and attempted murder in Mararaba.

Security analyst, Zagazola Makama disclosed the incident in a post on X on Thursday.

According to Makama, the case was reported by a vigilante member, Jamilu Abubakar, who had accompanied two young men to Alfa’s home on August 12 to seek spiritual help aimed at boosting their wealth through internet fraud.

Makama said Alfa allegedly gave the visitors a concoction and some meat to eat.

Shortly after, both men developed severe stomach pain and were rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Mararaba.

“One of them, identified as 21-year-old Ani Sunday, was confirmed dead on arrival at the hospital, while the other, Tosin Akurunor, is receiving treatment,” Makama added.
