Nollywood actress Foluke Daramola-Salako has revealed the heavy personal and financial price she paid for openly supporting President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 general elections.
Speaking on Behind The Fame TV, Daramola-Salako disclosed that her political stance led to the loss of two lucrative brand ambassadorship deals. The first was worth ₦10 million and another worth ₦15 million, all due to backlash from the Obidient movement. She said:
“I know what I lost without collecting a kobo. I lost two ambassadorship deals… I almost lost my marriage. But at the end of the day, I voted my conscience and my choice.”
The actress, who served as media assistant for the Performing Arts Directorate of the APC’s 2023 Presidential Campaign Council in Lagos, explained that her loyalty to Tinubu stems from a personal relationship, describing him as a father figure who has supported her in key moments, including her wedding.
Despite the backlash and strained personal relationships, Daramola-Salako insists she has no regrets, stressing that her decision in 2023 was made from the heart.

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that in September 2022, Foluke Daramola spoke about her support for All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate Bola Tinubu and her husband Kayode Salako’s support for Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi.
In a statement shared on Instagram, Foluke Daramola stated that her husband’s association with the opposition party will not affect her assignment with Tinubu and her appointment as the assistant director for the media department of the performing arts directorate of the APC’s presidential council.
The actress further denied claims that she and her husband may collide to work in favour of either Labour Party or APC
