Armed men attack farm, kill one, abduct another in Kwara

A farmer has been killed, another injured, and one person abducted after armed men attacked a farmland in Lema community, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama revealed the incident in a post on X on Friday, saying the attack happened around 12:41 p.m. on Thursday at Gaga farmland.

According to Makama, the victims, Mallam Sode Alhassan, 42; Musa Adama, 35; and Ndanuruh Aminu, 30 were working on their groundnut farm when gunmen carrying AK-47 rifles suddenly opened fire.

Alhassan was shot dead on the spot, Aminu sustained a shoulder injury, and Adama was taken away to an unknown location.

Makama said security operatives later visited the scene.

“The injured victim was taken to the General Hospital in Share for treatment, while the deceased was moved to the hospital’s mortuary,” he wrote.

He added that a combined team of soldiers, police officers, vigilantes, and local hunters had been deployed to comb nearby bushes in search of the abducted farmer and track down the attackers.
