CHAN: 7 countries eliminated from tournament

Seven countries have been eliminated from the ongoing CAF African Nations Championship, CHAN.

The countries are Guinea, Niger Republic, Angola, Zambia, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, and the Central African Republic.

Guinea and Niger were the latest teams to exit CHAN after failing to beat Algeria and South Africa, respectively, on Friday.

DAILY POST reports that Guinea played a 1-1 draw with Algeria, while South Africa defeated Zambia 3-1 in Group C, and Nigeria played 0-0 with South Africa.

Guinea now sit in fourth position in the group with four points from four matches, while Niger are in bottom position with one point from three games, with one match left to play.

Ahead of Guinea and Niger are Uganda, who lead the group with six points from three games, followed by Algeria with five points from three games, and South Africa, also with five points from three games.

Guinea and Niger have now joined Nigeria, the Central African Republic, Burkina Faso, Zambia, and Angola in exiting the tournament.
