Former member representing Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency, Danji Usman, has officially announced his defection from the All Progressives Congress, APC, to the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
Usman made the announcement in a statement released to journalists on Saturday in Jalingo, saying the move would enable him pursue his political aspirations ahead of the 2026/2027 elections.
He commended his supporters in Southern Taraba, across the state, and in the diaspora for their solidarity since his exit from the APC, describing their support as proof of a shared vision to “rescue the people of Taraba from the grip of bad governance.”
According to him, the decision to join the ADC came after “careful consideration, due diligence, and wide consultations,” adding that the party would serve as a viable platform for his movement to engage in the democratic process and advance people-oriented policies.
“I, therefore, call on all my supporters, sympathizers, and every lover of good governance to rally behind this movement.
“Let us join hands to liberate the downtrodden, lift our people from poverty, and bring succor to communities in need by standing firmly with the ADC in every way,” he said.
Usman reaffirmed his commitment to championing a people-first agenda and urged his supporters to remain steadfast as he embarks on what he described as a new political direction.
