Arsenal pulled out of the race to sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace, because they did not want to block the development of two players.

The Gunners are happy with their attacking options as things stand, especially after Ethan Nwaneri decided to sign a new contract.

Nwaneri enjoyed a fine breakthrough campaign last season and has now committed his future to his boyhood club.

Before signing the deal, he was linked with Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund.

With the equally exciting Max Dowman also waiting in the wings, Arsenal do not want to block the progress of two of the most exciting talents to emerge from the Hale End Academy.

This means Tottenham will get a free run at signing Eze for a fee in excess of £60 million.

The transfer could be finalized next week, as the 27-year-old has already agreed personal terms.
