At least two people were abducted by gunmen on the evening of August 16 in Oreke, a community in Kwara State.

The victims have been identified as Mrs. Salmat Dada, the wife of the elder brother of the Oreke monarch, and one Dada Faruk, both residents of the area.

Local sources told security analyst Zagazola Makama that the attackers stormed the community around 8:00 p.m., firing sporadically before abducting the victims and fleeing to an unknown location.

In response, security forces, including police and community vigilantes, have launched a coordinated search operation aimed at rescuing the abducted individuals and apprehending the assailants.
