The Niger State House of Assembly has passed the Niger State Diaspora Agency Bill in line with the state’s efforts to engage with its diaspora community.
The bill was passed after the House Standing Committee on Women Affairs, Humanitarian and Disaster Management, chaired by the deputy speaker, Afiniki Eunice Dauda, presented its report.
Dauda explained that the bill is aimed at facilitating strategic investments, cultural exchange, trade and collaborative development projects, thereby, opening new avenues for economic growth and development.
The House also adopted recommendations from the Standing Committee on Health, Nutrition, and Primary Health Care, presented by its Chairman, Umar NasirNasir, representing Paikoro constituency.
Nasir noted that improving incentives for medical personnel, automatic employment for health interns, and alternative energy sources for health facilities will go a long way in enhancing healthcare delivery in the state.
These measures, he maintained, will enhance healthcare delivery, ensuring medical personnel are motivated and equipped to provide quality services.
The Speaker, Abdulmalik Mohammed Sarkin-Daji, commended the House Standing Committees for their work and directed the Clerk to transmit the bills to the Executive for assent.
