US President, Donald Trump, has confirmed the details for the 2026 World Cup draw.

According to Trump, the draw will be conducted at the Kennedy Center in Washington on December 5.

“It’s the biggest, probably the biggest event in sports,” he told reporters in the Oval Office on Friday, accompanied by FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

Next year’s tournament will be co-hosted by the US, Mexico and Canada.

For the first time, the competition will feature 48 teams, an increase from the usual 32.

So far, 13 teams have qualified for the 2026 World Cup. They are: Canada, Mexico, USA, Australia, IR Iran, Uzbekistan, Jordan, Korea Republic, Japan, Argentina, Ecuador, Brazil, and New Zealand.

The tournament will take place from 11 June 11 to July 19, 2026.
