Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, on Thursday, inaugurated a Judicial Commission of Inquiry to review the sale, lease, and management of government-owned assets, companies, markets, and inactive industries across the state.
The newly constituted panel is headed by retired Justice Samson Itodo, who took the oath of office at the Exco Extension Hall, Government House, Makurdi.
The event also featured the swearing-in of the Governor’s new Chief of Staff, Barrister Moses Atagher.
Governor Alia, while charging the commission, emphasized the need for accountability and fairness, urging Justice Itodo to carry out the assignment with courage and integrity.
“This responsibility demands firmness, honesty, and a commitment to justice in the overall interest of the people of Benue,” the governor stated.
In his response, Justice Itodo pledged to approach the task with the same dedication he displayed in a similar role earlier this year, assuring that the panel would discharge its mandate diligently and transparently.
