The Kano State Police Command said it has arrested 10 people for allegedly receiving stolen motorcycles and recovered seven bikes from them.
Police said the success was recorded after the arrest of well-known motorcycle thief, Dahiru Jibrin, on August 11, 2025.
Investigations by the Anti-Cyber Crime Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) then led to the new arrests.
Police spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said in a statement on Thursday, that the recovered motorcycles have been returned to their owners.
He explained that the success shows the Command’s determination to break criminal networks in the state.
“The recovered motorcycles have been handed over to their rightful owners as part of the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property,” he said.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, praised the officers who carried out the operation and urged residents to support the police with useful information.
“The Kano State Police Command remains unwavering in its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of residents and their property,” he said.
