Niger State governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has felicitated with the 20th Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, on his 69th birthday, which comes up on August 24, 2025.

In a congratulatory message issued through his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the governor described the Sultan of Sokoto as a humble, diligent, and iconic leader who has over the years served as a model to many, especially the Muslim Ummah.

The governor acknowledged the unrelenting efforts of the Islamic leader in the propagation of Islam, upholding its tenets, as well as ensuring peaceful co-existence among other religions in the country.

Bago maintained that the contributions of the celebrant to nation-building and religious harmony are immense and commendable.

He enjoined other Muslim leaders and the entire Muslim Ummah to emulate the selflessness and humility of the Sultan, and to sustain their support for him in his leadership.

The governor prayed for more blessed years for the celebrant, while wishing him continued good health, wisdom, and Allah’s guidance.
