Nigerian singer and entrepreneur, Mr Eazi, has admitted that his music income alone could not have covered the cost of his recent wedding to actress and fashion blogger cum actress, Temi Otedola, daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola.
The “Leg Over” hitmaker revealed this while reacting to a post on X (formerly Twitter), where a fan suggested he was trying to recoup his wedding expenses with his new single, Cassanova.
In response, Mr Eazi quipped:
“U think sey music go fit pay for that wedding my G? lol.”

Another user argued that the singer’s 2018 earnings were enough to sponsor the event. Addressing this, Mr Eazi admitted that while 2017–2018 was his peak hit-run musically, it was also the “brokest” period of his last nine years, stressing that hit songs don’t always equal financial security. He added:
“You got a point tho, but 2017-18 is the brokest I’ve been in the last 9 years! But all the music I put out then enter like mad sha, I’m really thankful.”
Mr Eazi’s remarks highlight the huge cost of a destination wedding and the unpredictability of income in the music industry. Despite his success, the Iceland ceremony required more than what music royalties could provide.
The wedding, which took place on August 8, 2024 at Reykjavik’s iconic Hallgrimskirkja Church, was an intimate but lavish affair. The venue was closed to the public and decorated with fresh flowers, with close family and friends in attendance, including Temi’s mother Nana Otedola, her sister DJ Cuppy, and even Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man.
Viral clips also showed comedian Brodashaggi sharing light-hearted moments with guests, further underlining the exclusivity of the event.
Mr Eazi and Temi had announced their engagement in London back in April 2022, after dating for several years.
The couple has also hinted at holding a civil ceremony as far back as 2022, with Mr Eazi previously revealing that the video for his song Legalise doubled as footage from their wedding in Venice.
