It was an exchange of fortunes for two Abia football clubs in the Nigerian Professional Football League, NPFL, on Sunday, as Enyimba Football Club of Aba was held to a 0-0 draw by newcomers, Barau FC.

The match, played at Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano, saw Enyimba finish the game with nine players.

On the flip side, in Umuahia, the Abia state capital, Abia Warriors pipped Kano Pillars 1-0.

Paul Samson gave Warriors the victory in the 35th minute, sending the Umuahia crowd into celebration.

The Umuahia team, which fielded six new players, withstood late pressure from Kano Pillars.

The victory keeps Abia Warriors in second position on the NPFL table behind El Kanemi Warriors, while Enyimba occupies 10th position.
