Former Kano governorship candidate and African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain, Alhaji Ibrahim Ali Amin, popularly known as Ibrahim Little, has accused Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s government of being linked to “numerous corruption scandals.”

He urged the governor to stop the misuse of public funds.

In a statement on Tuesday, Little expressed concern over the rising cases of alleged corruption under Yusuf’s administration.

He referred to a report which claimed that the EFCC and ICPC traced ₦6.5bn to the account of the governor’s protocol director, Abdullahi Ibrahim Rogo.

“This should serve as a wake-up call for Governor Yusuf to act swiftly and decisively,” he said.

Little also pointed to earlier allegations that local government funds were diverted to purchase drugs from NOVOMED, a company allegedly linked to Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso’s nephew. According to him, the drugs were never supplied to government hospitals, raising doubts about accountability.

He further highlighted another case in which over ₦1.1bn was forfeited to ICPC, stressing that these were not just rumours but legal actions already in court.

The ADC chieftain faulted Governor Yusuf for constantly blaming the previous administration, saying this cannot justify ongoing irregularities.

He referred to Yusuf’s claim that ex-governor Abdullahi Ganduje spent ₦20 billion on protocol within three months, describing it as “a weak excuse.”

“We are going through economic hardship. Nigerians are suffering from inflation and poverty, and leaders must protect public funds with honesty and the fear of God,” Little warned.

He reminded leaders of accountability before God, saying, “On the Day of Judgement, everyone will answer for their actions, especially those in positions of authority.”
